Have you noticed that the weather is getting more extreme? Heat waves, droughts, and snow set new records. Climate change is affecting us. But, we are making progress in our responses. Join us for an evening panel discussion celebrating local climate-related successes. Speakers include climate leaders from Sustainable Stow, Green Hudson, Green Maynard, Green Acton, and Massachusetts Senator Jamie Eldridge. Learn about present local climate achievements, hear about future plans to promote healthy environments in our towns, and join the Q & A.
In this four-week program, delivered via Zoom, we will explore both sitting meditation and mindful movement practices. The movement patterns are gentle and can be easily adapted for those with limited mobility. How are sitting and movement practices different, and how are they the same? How can they help us develop mindfulness skills, be present, and reduce stress? Each week, we will practice together and have ample time to discuss our experience. This class is suitable for beginners as well as anyone wishing to practice in community or to deepen or re-establish their practice. Please plan to attend all four

The Town of Acton is studying Parker Street (between High Street and the MBTA Tracks) to better understand safety concerns and opportunities to improve conditions for people who drive, walk, and bike. The world is fascinated by the recent jewel robbery at the Louvre, and so are the Curators of Crime, mystery authors Connie Berry, Lane Stone, Nina Wachsman, and M. A. Monnin. In this presentation, the Curators of Crime will examine the public’s fascination with the recent burglary of Napoleonic jewels at the Louvre and discuss how as authors they have used the same elements in their books.
