Life in the U.S. during the 1970s blended the momentum of 1960s activism with a growing sense of political distrust and economic uncertainty. On the plus side social movements remained powerful with civil rights continuing and women pushing harder for equal rights and reproductive freedom.  Culturally, the decade was vibrant and diverse.
